Blue Demon Challenge 2025

Today is Blue Demon Challenge, DePaul University's day of giving, when alumni, faculty and staff, students, families and friends come together to support the people, programs, and spaces that make DePaul so special.

Your gift to the School of Music is an investment in the lives of student musicians at DePaul and helps build a sense of community for all of DePaul University. The Fund for Music helps the school meet the needs of music students, especially during these tumultuous times. During Blue Demon Challenge, your gift can go even further:

• School of Music Challenge: When 75 people make a gift to any fund in the School of Music, Patti Duwel and Eugene Payson will donate $50,000 in memory of beloved faculty member Albert Payson.
• School of Music Scholarship Challenge: When 50 or more people donate to any scholarship in the School of Music, Raymond A. Daly (MS '65) will give $10,000
• School of Music Gala Challenge: When 10 people make a gift to the School of Music Gala, Graham Fuguitt will donate $5,000!
• School of Music Young Alumni Challenge: When 10 young alumni from the School of Music (under 30 years old) make a gift to any fund in the School of Music, Rev. John E. Rybolt, C.M. will donate $25,000!
• Angeli Enrichment Fund Challenge: When 10 people make a gift to the Vittorio Angeli Enrichment Fund, Geoff and Linda Hirt will donate $5,000!
• Fund for Jazz Challenge: When 10 people make a gift to the Fund for Jazz, Deane (SOM '88) and Layni (TTS '86, CMN '89) Myers will donate $10,000!
• Opera Fund Challenge: When 10 people make a gift to the Opera Gift Fund, Geoff and Linda Hirt will donate $32,500. 
• Music Education Alumni Challenge: When 10 Music Education alumni make a gift of any size to any fund in the School of Music, Pat Ewers will donate $5,000!
• Performing Arts Management Alumni Challenge: When 10 Performing Arts Management alumni make a gift of any size to any fund in the School of Music, an anonymous donor will give $10,000!
• Sound Recording Technology Alumni Challenge: When 10 Sound Recording Technology alumni make a gift of any size to any fund in the School of Music, Liz Ware will donate $4,000!
