Be part of the 2023 Blue Demon Challenge: give now!
The Blue Demon Challenge (BDC) is DePaul University's annual day of giving, when alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends come together to give back—and this year we're raising our sights again! Your gift of any size during the BDC can help us get closer to reaching our goal of raising $7,000,000 in a single day!
A gift to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences is a special opportunity to honor your DePaul education and support current and future hardworking, dedicated students in their studies and as they prepare for the future. During the Blue Demon Challenge, your gift to the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences can go even further:
- COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES CHALLENGE: When we receive 150 gifts to any fund in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Michael R. Moore will give $100,000 to the Peace, Justice, and Conflict Studies Endowed Scholarship!
- DEPT. OF HISTORY CHALLENGE: When we receive 15 gifts to the Department of History, Joseph A. McGowan (MST '93, LAS MA '19) will give $50,000 to the McGowan Family Endowed Scholarship for Experiential Learning!
- ORBAN-WEISENBERG MODERN LANGUAGES CHALLENGE: When we receive 15 gifts to the Department of Modern Languages, faculty member Dr. Clara E. Orban and Elliot Weisenberg, MD, will give $5,000 to celebrate their retirements!
- BIG SHOULDERS BOOKS CHALLENGE: When we receive 20 gifts to the Fund for Big Shoulders Books, Dr. Irene C. (CERT LAS '97) and William J. Beck will give $20,000 to the fund! In a generous addition to this challenge, Dr. and Mr. Beck will also MATCH dollar-for-dollar, all gifts made to the Fund for Big Shoulders Books up to $20,000!
- GRADUATE PROGRAMS OF THE COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCES CHALLENGE: When we receive 50 gifts in support of graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Jessica Sarowitz will give $100,000 in support of graduate internships for students in the programs of Social Work, Public Health, and Refugee & Forced Migration Studies.
